If you could trade places with anyone in the design world or history for one day, who would it be and why? 

A day in the life of Sister Parrish working with Jacqueline Kennedy on the White House restoration.

How did your childhood influence your design aesthetic? 

I remember the first time my mother let me “redesign” my room!  From that moment on, I developed a growing penchant for creating delightful spaces.

What is your favorite design quote? 

“The details are not the details, they make the design” – Charles Eames

Please describe your favorite dining experience? 

When I was a child, my grandfather would take me and my sister on daytrips to Mexico for tacos and salsa in a basement restaurant. The hot pickled carrots were always my favorite! These trips are some of my favorite memories.

How would you describe your design aesthetic?
Buy what you love and it will always work.

Which movie will you always stop to watch when channel surfing?
‘Private Benjamin’.  Goldie Hawn was perfectly cast.  I belly laugh every time.

What inspired you to pursue a career in design?

I’ve always had a passion for making spaces pretty & taking things apart to rebuild in an organized, more functional way for people to get the most out of their home, bedroom, office, etc.

What’s the most interesting place you’ve traveled or dreamed of visiting?

Egypt is an ideal place I’d like to visit because of its rich history—they have so much to explore & there’s so many things that connects our past to the present that it’d feel like traveling through time.

What’s the best piece of career advice you’ve ever received?

The best carer advice I’ve ever received is to always be teachable. Even the smartest person in the room could learn something new so being open to learning new skills goes a long way.

What’s your guilty-pleasure snack?

What’s one surprising fact about you?

I’ve been the exact same height since I was 13 years old.
